L3 internship
For the duration of the internship, I have worked on the interaction between yarns and liquids, and more precisely, on the shrinking of a knitted fabric after it went into the washing machine, and the first principles ruling the evolution of a knot sprinkled with soap. This study fits with the previous work of Samuel Poincloux about knitted fabrics, in order to understand the physic of such (meta)materials, this time in interaction with liquids. The geometrical and physical principles raised can be considered as the framework for a deeper study of these objects, giving leads for further investigations, besides being a good introduction to the world of research.
